Traditions

Do you have a family tradition? Every other Sunday we all come over to my mom's house to cookout. It is something I look forward to because it is a fun time to spend with everyone. The kids have a blast and we have a good time in general. I hope everyone has a tradition they can share.

Pets, when are they old enough?

Yesterday was the beginning of a new chapter in the life of Ethan and Ava. They both received Guinea Pigs. We were lucky enough to find some for free on Craig's List and so far so good. The lady we got them from drove from Goldsboro and met us at Parker's in Wilson and we had to pay nothing for the cage, feed, shavings and everything the goes with it. I figured it was a good investment and would teach them some responsibilities on pet care for the puppy that is still way off into the future. This morning, Emily thought it would be a great idea to let the m run loose in Ethan's room...well...that turned into an hour of me trying to round them up and put them back into the cage.

Ethan and I went fishing last weekend and Ethan caught a pretty good sized bass. He was so excited. We are about to go fishing in a little bit, so maybe I will have more photos. For now, I will leave you with the newest members of our family, Prince Scooty and the Duke of Pooty :-)

What is Love!!!

Seeing that this is my first post on this new blog, I will introduce myself. My name is Patrick and I am the father of 2 wild, crazy, lovable, annoying kids. Ethan is 6 and Ava is 3. I am a pressman at a printing company and I have been there for almost 10 years. I have been married to my beautiful wife Emily for almost 9 years. My life is hectic, crazy, boring, exciting all at the same time. I enjoy video games, fishing, disc golf ( even though I haven't played in years ) and spending time with my family and friends. My oldest child, Ethan, is a wonderful little boy. He has a very strong personality and isn't afraid to show you. He wants to try anything and everything at least once. His name means Strong Willed and trust me it holds true to every fiber of his being. He has recently lost 2 teeth on top, so he looks a bit silly.

I am just now getting him into fishing and he simply loves it. We went to three different places yesterday and caught nothing, but we had a great time. He is also very active and enjoys playing sports. He has played soccer, t-ball and flag football. He just finished up his football season and received his trophy last weekend.

Ava is my daughter and she is a big bundle of fun. She is my imaginative child. She can sit in her room for hours playing and making things up and needs no help. She will ask you what kind of food you would like to have and bring you imaginary plates and even tell you the colors of them. She will be 4 in August and will be starting pre-k as well. I am not worried at all about her because she is very outgoing and warms up to people really quick. We recently had her hair cut because it was just to demanding for a 3 1/2 year old to maintain, not to mention the parents as well.

Last, but not least is my beautiful, thoughtful, hardworking, super-mom, wife Emily. It would take me way to long to write all the things that I enjoy about being with her, so I will leave you with a picture that I think is one of her best ever taken. I took it with my sister's camera and it is my favorite picture of her.

So when the song as, " What is Love..?" I simply say: This is love
